I finally got on the site here and am saying howdy to all of you fine folks. Evelyn asked me to sign on a while back. This is Paula Z from Powell, Ohio where I monitor a few EABL trails. I also hail from Put-in-Bay, Ohio where I just installed my second PUMA rig in our yard by Lake Erie.

I actively control HOSP on the trail and also trap EUST during winter months or when they venture into the PUMA rig. This is a busy time of year for me so please be patient if you say howdy back and I don't respond right away.

And Howdy to you Paula!! How thrilled I was when I saw your post!

Paula is definitely one of my favorite experts on House Sparrows and she has had plenty experience dealing with them. She has done wonderful things with trails that were heavily infested with them. Paula, I would love for you to tell us about them and some of your experiences when you get time.

I learned from you exactly how to place the mesh cloth over the box and grab the bird. I don't have HOSP's, but I have to be sure I know about them when people ask me what to do!

I hope people viewing will register and join us and post their questions on any and everything about cavity nesters!
