It is lights out for migrating birds so that the birds do not hit into tall buildings during night time migration. Minneapolis is doing it and so is Chicago where hundreds of birds are found beneath its tall skyscrappers every day.

(WCCO) There's a new program in the Twin Cities designed to save birds and there's a bonus, it'll save some energy too. It's called Lights Out and it's supposed to help keep birds from flying into buildings and dying.
