Israel Scrambled Fighters to Intercept Migratory Birds
From: http://www.shortnews.com/
Israel: Fighter planes were scrambled and sent to the Syrian border after objects that could not conclusively be identified were picked up on radar. The pilots eventually discovered they had intercepted a flock of migratory birds.
According to an Israeli official, planes are regularly scrambled as a precautionary measure. False alarms are reportedly very common in the disputed territory between the two countries.
Tensions have been at extreme levels between Israel and Syria, who are technically still at war, after Israeli warplanes crossed into Syria and dropped munitions earlier this month.
