Purple Martins
August 13th 2012, around 7:15PM, I was sitting at my computer reading Emails, and half watching outside. Outside is where my PM housing is, and some bird feeders. Since I also hunt, my eyes are attuned to catching any movement, and directing my full attention to it. Well such happened, and when I looked, What do I see?? A Female PM flying around my housing. She tried to land, but lost her footing and flew around the yard two more times. When she tried again to land, she did so. Sat a few seconds, then flew off. Gone about thirty seconds, then back with two more. Then two of them landed. One on my North Star house, one on my Trio Castle. Then they would fly off, come from a different direction, land, then gone again. Couple minutes of that, and a Fourth joined in. That was some exciting let me tell you all. I'm NOT used to seeing multiples. Normally just one for a few seconds, then gone. This really got me excited. Didn't see anyone tonight, but they may have been headed South already, or they may come back tomorrow. I'll be watching, and hoping. I have a friend in Florida, who is going to send me a couple more Natural gourds, and I hope to be able to find a couple Troyer Horizontals. Not even sure if they still make them, but I'll do some searching. CUL Lou Lowell, Michigan
EDIT. Hi Bill. Yep, my Mac and I are getting along fine. I have a CD of the Dawn Song, and play it in an old player. Sorry this has taken me so long to get back, but I've been some discouraged, and not on any PM Forums. I'll try to drop in more often folks.
Hi Terry. Long time. CUL Lou
