My first and only pair successfully raised their four young and they all fledged last weekend. It was such a joy to see them all grow up and now flying all around. The family is gone most of the day but about 6PM they all return to the nestbox and this evening brought along 5 friends! Going to be quite a party!!!! Everyone was having the best time, yelling and zooming all around before settling into the compartments for the night. I am really going to miss them when they leave for Brazil.
I had one SY male around the past two months as well. Think that he slept in one of my Troyer Horizontal gourds while the family was raised in my modified Trio Grandma house. |

Carlton, that SY male will probably be back next year to nest. Last year we had an SY male build a nest but never mated. This year he was back with a female and has young about to fledge. We know he came back because we had two SY pair last year plus the SY male and this year we had three ASY pair. Now we have another SY male that built a nest but did not mate. Hope he will return next year as well.
