This
web site is dedicated to Purple Martin Landlords, past,
present, and future. Our purpose is to educate the Purple
Martin public,
to stimulate their interest and enthusiasm in learning
about these birds and caring for them, and to bear testimony
to
what other enthusiasts have found so gratifying in perpetuating
this bird's much needed support.
Traveling
thousands of miles from points as far away as Brazil,
and extending
all the way to locations in Canada
on the North American Continent, Purple
Martins find their ways into the backyards of thousands of enthusiasts.
Already uncommon
in many of their natural breeding areas, Purple Martins, east of the
Rocky Mountains, have become almost completely dependent
on humans. As long as there are
Purple Martins, and as long as we continue to support and
to protect them, they will return
faithfully to our colony sites, year
